I took half of Friday off and spent the afternoon at the Street Fair with Nakiah and my mom. I was wearing one of my MVPR sweatshirts at work and didn't bother to change when we left the house. While we were visiting one of the booths, Nakiah got to meet some kittens and had her picture taken by the newspaper, of course they talk to mom to get a little information and maybe a quote or two. On Saturday, the herald published a very nice story about people playing hooky from work, pushing strollers up and down the street and proceeded to announce that Rashel O'Neil was showing her 1 year old daughter Nakiah some kittens. Note to self: don't wear work identifying clothing to street fair when skipping out on work to attend said street fair.
We had fun anyway! Nakiah LOVED the music. She's not a big fan of singing and most of the time wants me to turn the volume off when there is singing on tv, but apparently music with no singing is something she loves. We listed to the street fair music for a while and even let Nakiah out to dance for a bit....with her baby of course.
She even got a balloon from what must have been a very terrifying sight to my child. She barely got close enough to reach the balloon doggy. I had to nudge her a bit.
Oh yeah, Nakiah doesn't like cotton candy. Not really at all, actually.
