Lions & Tigers & Bears ... Oh My!!

My mom & I took Nakiah to the Mom & Me at the Zoo, Mother's Day event. It was way more for me than it was for Nakiah, but we all had a great time.

We're off to see some animals...

Nakiah and her new monkey friend

Watching the gorilla pick berries

Nakiah liked the otters until Meega got too close

She liked the kids standing next to us more than she liked the elk, and several other animals

She actually did like watching the bears play

Once she got over her initial fear of them, she liked the animal statues....way better than the real animals.

We even rode on an elephant!!

At the family farm, she got to touch some of the animals.....not her favorite thing!

She just sort of watched the other kids and then turned around to climb up my arms if an animal got too close. Meega & Nakiah watching the Peacock
This, she did like
By the end of the day, she was pretty pooped!
Probably because she was too busy watching all the kids to even take a nap.
She made my 1st mother's day so much more than I could ever have imagined it would be!!

Congratulations Kelsey!!!!

My cousin, Kelsey, is graduating from high school in a couple of months!! Woo-hoo!
Which also means she's about to realize how easy pre-real world life actually is =)
She had her senior recognition night for her softball team and Nakiah and I went to watch.
-Cubs Won!!-
**Kelsey has already been awarded 2 scholarships**
Congratulations Kelsey
We're VERY proud of you and we love you
We're going to call this .... crushed =)
The evenings victors Kelsey with her coaches
Kelsey and her fabulous parents, Crystal & Shawn

8 Months.....WOW!

Time really does fly by when you're having fun!! I can't believe Nakiah is already 8 months old. Its hard to imagine that she was once so tiny. =) She's really starting to change almost over night.
I tried to tell her it never looks as good in person as it does in the menu....
I was under the impression that glaring at your mom didn't start until at least 13-ish, and even then shouldn't it be behind my back? She must have seen her hair in the mirror....
Learning to eat all by herself
Next time we'll work on using the utensils
The fact that she has no fear, only adds to my slight paranoia
"You can run but you can't hide!"
-Now that she is crawling, she loves to follow me-
Just not sure about the rug yet
Every time the camera comes out....
Nakiah in motion, as always!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

Nakiah and I went to watch Kelsey's senior appreciation game a few nights ago.
Nakiah had a blast.
Cubs won!!
