Nakiasaurus Rex

A little Halloween Sampler

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

Meega, Nakiah and I had an adventurous day a couple of weekends ago. We were headed to Seattle when we came across a pumpkin patch in Smokey Point. We couldn't pass it up.
Trying to find the perfect pumpkin
Its just her size...she kept calling them "balls" She really loved the tractors
Pretty Pretty Pumpkin Princess
If only she could lift them
We came home with two tiny pumkin "balls" that now get thrown all over the house. She throws them and looks at them like she's trying to figure out why they don't bounce like her other balls.

New Kicks!

When Nakiah was born, she had these sweet little feet that folded perfectly under her butt when she was curled up on my chest. When she finally started gaining weight, her feet sort of blossomed.....so much that up until very recently, I have been unable to find one pair of shoes that fit her feet. Even the stretchy robies were no match for Nakiah's feet.
We were very lucky and came across some extra wide toddler shoes at Sears. They weren't my favorite, but the girl needed some shoes. Meega bought Nakiah her first real pair of shoes.
It was sooo funny watching her walk in them the first couple of times! Her new shoes
We were double lucky and found some boots at Target that worked perfectly.
These were even harder for her to walk in.
The girl has a shoe fettish....and not in a good way. For whatever reason she loves to chew on shoes...all shoes...all parts of shoes...whenever she can. Its almost as bad as having a puppy in the house, we can't leave our shoes laying around any more.

Nakiah's World

On our way out from the Children's Museum we passed a woman training an assistant dog. Nakiah thought it was pretty fun to watch, but she wasn't brave enough to pet it.
My little climber can't resist the urge to get up on anything. Meega taught her to climb on her ladder and now she thinks she needs "up" on everything. She is proving to be a bit independant when it comes to exploring....as long as we don't get too far away from her when strangers are around. If nobody is around, she'll take off with no worries.
After Dinner Loves
Look who's using the potty!! :)

Museum Fun

A couple of weeks ago I took a few hours off of work and my mom and I took Nakiah to the Children's Museum. She had fun running around, playing with all the "new" toys and watching the kids. Her FAVORITE part of the day was splashing in the little river.
Nakiah learned the unfortunate reality....not all kids are nice!
Some little brat (yes I called him a brat!) smacked my child in the face and ran away.
Poor baby! First she gets smacked by some ill mannered booger eater and then her mom takes pictures of the tears!
Showing me her favorite fish
She was fascinated
And the splashing begins
She didn't want to leave the water
I had to force her to take a picture with me.

26 Years..... :-)

Nakiah surprised me for my 26th birthday yesterday.
She even helped write her name on the card.

She and Meega surprised me with flowers when I came home for lunchShe and Meega also made my favorite cake (cherry chip cake with cherry frosting) (I had to borrow Nakiah's birthday candle) Nakiah and Grampa surprised me with a big beautiful boquet of flowers delivered to my work and Nakiah and Corey made me a very delicious dinner.

It was the best 26th birthday so far!! :)

Busy Day, FUN DAY

On Sunday we all packed up and headed out to the peninsula to see Michael and Danielle, watch the sad, sad, very sad football game and have some dinner.
Enjoying our meals
Oh no, where's the ketchup? Oh good...that was close! She's way more fun to watch than any football game
Nakiah had a very busy, fun filled day....
She read stories with Boog... Tried to get away during her diaper changes...
Tried really, really hard to get away during diaper changes... Did some flying through the air... Got caught up on all the missed loves... Did a some acrobatics... A little more flying...
Some hair pulling and eye poking... Got lots more loves... Of course did some posing.... And did some people watching and horn honking while waiting in line for the ferry.... By the end of the very long-wake up at 7am-take one 45 minute nap all day long-day, she was so worn out that she totally crashed on the way home and didn't even wake up when I took her out of her car seat. We all had a great time visiting with Michael and Danielle!!
Next time we'll bring extra blankets... :-)
...and long johns, and sweaters, and parkas, and hand warmers and thermal socks!

Fun Time with Grammy & Grampy

Chilling with Grampy
Driving the car with Grammy Nakiah kept putting her hand out to touch Maddie, but when Maddie tried to lick Nakiah, Nakiah would pull her hand back real quick and start giggling. Nakiah thought it was the funnest game! She finally stopped teasing the poor puppy and gave her some loves! But she still thought she was funny! Thanks Grammy for a fabulous dinner....as always!
We had a great time!
