Thats Right!

The conversation I just heard.... Corey - "Nakiah, who's your favorite?" Nakiah - "Mama!"

March 10, 2009

Time Flies!

Nakiah had her 18 month check up last week.
She weighed 30 pounds 13 ounces ~ 95th percentile
She measured 33.5 inches long ~ 95th percentile
Basically in the doctor's words "shes a big girl". Yes, we know! She's wearing size 7 shoes, 3T clothes and measuring up to kids twice her age (almost). Its crazy to think back at how small she was. At her 1 week check up she weighed 6.2 and could fit right under my chin. Time goes by so fast when you watch your baby grow. I'm very thankful that she is healthy and happy.
She is the joy of our lives!
We couldn't have picked a more perfect princess!

We Want Snow!!

Nakiah and I do!
I'm going to be 9 months pregnant in the middle of July!
I won't apologize for praying for cold weather. :-)

The stuff that really matters....

Scale of 1 to 10

She's off the charts for cuteness!
Her hair gets an A+ too!

Jump!!

Nakiah had her first experience on a trampoline
And LOVED it!
I could tell by the way she was screaming bloody murder as I peeled her fingers off of the mat to bring her inside and out of the rain!

Future Fishing Buddies....when mom says its okay!

Bring It On!!

Nakiah and I were so excited to see snow on Saturaday!! She kept pointing out the window saying "snow, snow, snow" which actually sounds more like "noooooe, noooooe, noooooe". We couldn't wait to get outside.
She thinks chasing the dog and cat is the funnest thing, especially in the snow when it gets so slippery She kept pointing to the cat and saying "oh no, mama, oh no". Then she would try to brush the snow off of the cat....it was an ongoing process. Every time the snow would let up a bit, we had to call it "nooooe, nooooe"! I'd say "oh no, where did it go" and Nakiah would look up and start calling for the snow. She got so excited every time she saw a flake fall.
It is so much fun to see her get such pleasure out of the simplest things.
She really makes me appreciate so many things that I used to take for granted or not even pay attention to. I honestly believe that children teach their parents just as much as we teach them!
I'm awfully lucky to have such an amazing teacher!

Ready, Set...GO!

Nakiah is such a racer! She even has her stance perfected!
On your mark....
Get set... ...GO!

Superstar

Corey won Supervisor of the Quarter last year and for their year end banquet, the Casino had posters made for each winner.
Nakiah LOVES our poster of daddy!
She wants to see it all the time.
She lays on it and gives daddy kisses when he is at work We're pretty proud of our daddy!

While Daddy is Outside

While Daddy was cleaning the yard, Nakiah and I decided to join in on the fun.
She LOVES to play in the rocks, pick up sticks and throw the pine cones
Dirt angels are also a favorite Sometimes she gets a little dirt under her nails...
...and pretty much everywhere else But my little trooper sucks it up and keeps scooting that butt down the drive way!
It was a pretty dirty afternoon!

While Mommy is in the Kitchen...

Nakiah's new entertainment while I'm getting a meal ready for her is measuring cups in the sink
She fills them up, dumps them out, fills them up, takes a drink, spills on the floor, fills them up dumps them down her shirt.....you get the idea When she has soaked herself to the point of shivers, or her fingers turn blue, she takes her snack to the chair to catch a cartoon before we eat
Usually at this point she is completely unaware of the fact that I still exist, I can NOT get her attention when she is engrossed in the television....I've tried!
Then its time to eat....and if the show she was watching wasn't over, well lets just say its easier to let her finish her show :-)

Fun Times

Nakiah has so much fun when she stays with Auma and Auda!
She gets to eat all kinds of fun food, and make a big mess
Then she relaxes in the big chair in front of the tv She gets to draw all over her chalk board that Auma made for her
And play in her cardboard box house
She does puzzles and can even give you the blue circle when you ask for it
Its like a big giant play land when Nakiah is there. I've heard stories that she doesn't even go to bed until 10pm! Oh the things kids get away with at Gramma & Grampa's house!

Dress Up

Nakiah has discovered the world of dress up and loves to wear
our shoes
our clothes and pretty much anything else she can find!!!

SMILE

When I ask Nakiah to smile for the camera,
this is what I get now.....
