Nakiah is still doing gymnastics once a week and loves it more and more all the time! She really likes Coach Michelle and Elyse who happens to be the only other child that regularly attends the Thursday evening class.
She's still a bit weary of the rope if I'm not holding on to her, but I'm so impressed by how much she has learned in the last 9 months.
She's on her way to doing hand stands and is even getting brave enough to try them at home without the assistance of the wall.
She likes to swing on the rings and even wants me to twist her around so she can spin/unwind.
The TumblTrak (a long trampoline) is one of her favorite stations. She has learned to do a seat drop (bounce from feet to bottom back up to feet - in a fluid motion), a straddle jump (jump up, spread legs, bring them back together before landing), a tuck jump (jump up, pull knees to chest and extend before landing) and jumping backwards all the way down the track without turning around.
She even gets to do some floor exercises, which for now consists mostly of chasing mommy in circles while galloping and doing forward rolls across the floor. ;-)
Practicing her tuck...
...and her pike positions
Even before Nakiah knew what this was called, the first time she got on it, she straddled it and started riding it like a horse....apparently kids just know!
