Helper

Nakiah LOVES to help with chores around the house. It doesn't matter what you're doing, she's always right beside you saying "Diah, Diah, Diah" (her version of Nakiah). If you don't let her help in some way, she gets mad and storms off. We're working on the temper, and the patience. :-) So she helps mommy sweep by holding the dust pan and helping me throw the dirt in the garbage. Apparently the last time we swept, she didn't get her fix. As I was putting the broom and dust pan away Nakiah proceeded to dump out the kitty dish and throw some rice on the floor. She picked up her broom and started "sweeping" up the mess. She kept saying "Diah, Diah".

I gave in and let her "sweep" until she had fulfilled her desire to help, even though her sweeping was more like pushing all of the cat food as far from the center of the room as possible. She was pretty proud of herself. She would look up at me and say "helping". I told her what a big girl she was a what a good job she was doing and then she'd say "good job".

Mommy did a little extra sweeping that night.
