1000 Faces....

So maybe I haven't captured all 1000 faces of Nakiah, but I think I'm getting pretty close! She's really starting to ham it up for the camera these days...which does make for some pretty fun pictures.
This one is my favorite...it's almost a devilish sort of laugh

She's my angel

Chocolate Thief

Someone got into some chocolate....

Not made for flip flops

If I could wear nothing on my feet but flip flops, I'd never buy another pair of shoes again. This is not a feeling that my daughter shares with me, she hates flip flops and has cried for me to take them off every time I've put them on her.
Poor girl's feet are just NOT made for flip flops!

Not in the mood

I'm guessing by the look on her face, actually the piercing glare from her eyes, that she wasn't really into picture time....

Driving Ms. Nakiah

Its official! My daughter is a Russell!
Its like a right of passage.... Driving before you actually pee in a toilet
She was pretty excited about the whole thing
But I'm not exactly sure who was more proud of the whole ordeal, Nakiah or her Auda!

I think I'll have to go with Auda on this one! Its been a long time since he had a little one driving on his lap!

Kicking it, pool side

Princess Nakiah in her paradise pool being waited on....I'm not liking where this seems to be headed!
She's so innocent....in pictures!

First Encounter

Nakiah had her first experience with a sprinkler at Auma's a couple of weeks ago.
She kept calling it "ti-toe" (tickle) Auma had to show her how to run through the water
Pregnant mommy even had to run through it with her

My child doesn't take no for an answer...she doesn't care if mommy's back is killing her and all she wants to do is sit back with her feet in the pool. :-)

Where's Waldo...er, Nakiah?

She liked it so much, she had to do it again!

Chores

Nakiah had a busy day of helping Daddy with chores last weekend
They cleaned the back door And even scrubbed the big window in the dining room, the one that Nakiah loves to put sticky hands on
They swept the steps
And stepped back to admire their work
I feel like the house has been a construction zone since we moved back from California. This summer we complete the siding, next summer we convert the back porch area and finish some landscaping....hopefully thats the end of this deep, dark tunnel!

Nakiah + Chalk =

You can't see the amount of blue very well and the pink doesn't show up in pictures, but when mommy isn't watching very well Nakiah likes to draw ON her face. I guess I'm going to have to explain myself a bit better when I ask her to draw Nakiah.

All dressed in red...

I'm not one to put Nakiah in dresses. If you hadn't noticed, she's rarely dressed in "cute girly" clothes, never has pig tails and never has she worn something frilly/ruffly/sequined/etc.
But this dress is just sooo cute on her, I couldn't resist....I got one in blue too!

I'm sure when she's older, she'll be the complete opposite. She'll love pink, be totally into hair and makeup. She'll primp all the time and never leave the house until she's all dolled up. She'll be the exact opposite of me and all because I wouldn't dress her up when she was little. :-) I think tomorrow we're shopping for a bubble gum pink ruffle dress with silky ribbons and heart sequins. ;-)

Hoop-Hoop

Auda and Auma added to their private play yard and got Nakiah a new basketball hoop and a baseball set. She LOVES them! She calls the basketball and hoop "hoop-hoop". She hasn't quite grasped the idea of throwing the ball to the hoop yet....she would much rather stand on something and drop the ball into the hoop. I think basketball may be out of the question for the future, besides...do they make O'Neils that tall? :-) (I love you babe!)
She shoots.....
She scores!!!
Apparently, we need to work a little on her batting technique too....
