New Car Seat

Its time!! Nakiah is officially growing out of her infant car seat....as if that wasn't obvious.

My child isn't exactly, dainty!

She loved it the minute I put her in it

This seat will sit up higher in the car, so hopefully she'll be able to see out of the windows

She's just sooooo cute!

All Bundled Up....Maybe Too Much??

Okay, so I'll never be the mother that takes my kids outside on a chilly day without their coat and hat, mittens and a blanket and whatever else I can find that will create warmth. I'll always make sure they have their mittens on when its cold out and extra socks if I think their toes might get cold. My kids will probably have ear muffs on under their wool hats and a couple of scarfs around their necks. My kids will probably suffer from over heating long before they ever feel the effects of hypothermia! I've never been accused of under dressing my child....but its been suggested that I might be a little extreme when it comes to keeping her warm.... :)

I took Nakiah for a walk a couple of days ago....

It was sunny, but a bit "crisp" out....

She doesn't mind if mommy over dresses her!

5 Months....a little late!

We've been really busy the last few weeks and mommy is really behind.

Here are some pictures of my 5 month old baby.

I can't believe how fast its going.

She's still a little wobbly somtimes, but she's sitting up all by herself!!

She has discovered the remote control and wants it!!

Mee-ga, you can see, lets her have it whenever she wants it....

She really wants to be able to move. She gets to her knees, or toes, and can rock back and forth, but hasn't mastered movement yet...I'm sure we'll be chasing her soon.

Her new favorite things are her toes. She loves to chew on them!

She loves anything that makes her feel like a "big girl"

Prunes Passed the Test

I'm really glad my child likes her fruits and vegetables!! So far she isn't a very picky eater, but I have no idea where she gets her taste buds. The prunes looked and smelled so disgusting that I wouldn't even taste them. Fortunately, Nakiah likes them. At least we know she'll stay "regular".

She's A Roller Over-er

Its been a while, so we have some updates.

At Nakiah's 4 month check up (at the beginning of January) she weighed 16lbs 6oz and was 24 3/8 inches long. Doc says she's leveling off closer to 50/50, which is a lot lower than the 90/75 percentile she was at the last appointment.

(Again, she's a healthy girl!)

She's really liking her food. She loves bananas and sweet potatoes, she's warmed up to the carrots but pears she's still getting used to. She'll sometimes eat the rice cereal with banana flakes, but now that she's tasted straight food, she would prefer the real thing. Rice cereal apparently got really old, really fast.

Our biggest news..............she FINALLY rolled over. My mom undressed Nakiah and let her play naked on the floor today (when I was on my way out the door back to work). As I was pulling out of the driveway I heard her yelling for me. I came back inside and watched my bitty girl roll over like she's been doing it for weeks!

She's as proud of herself as I am!!
