Kicen - 3 Months
I can't believe how quickly time is going by! My baby boy is already 3 months old!! He has officially rolled over, first from his belly to his back and on Halloween he rolled from his back to his belly. He doesn't mind tummy time and he holds his head up like a pro! He is growing so much, I can't wait to see his length and weight at his next check up. He is already wearing 6 months clothes and size 3 diapers!!! Kicen LOVES to chew on his hands, he drools all the time and is in the process of cutting his first tooth.
He loves to play with toys and he talks to whatever you put in front of him. He is extremely ticklish pretty much all over his body and he laughs hardest when he is tired. He's getting into a pretty nice routine and didn't have much trouble straightening out his days and nights. I just can't say it enough - he is a great baby! He is relaxed and easy going. He rarely fusses and I can seriously count the number of times he has truly cried on one hand. He always has a smile for his sister and loves to watch her play. He doesn't like to be tired and yet is beginning to fight sleep a bit. He likes to bury his head into whatever, or whoever, he is laying on when he is trying to fall asleep and cat naps are quite sufficient for him. I think he's afraid he'll miss something. He loves to hear his Mommy talk to him and gets excited when he sees me. I love to snuggle him and quiet time with just the two of us is something I will cherish forever. He really has no choice but to be a mamma's boy. He is so much more than I could ever have asked for and I'll be smothering him for the rest of my life!
Nakiah continues to amaze me with how quickly she is picking up on things. She uses new words every day and most of the time I have no idea where she even heard them in the first place. Yesterday I gave her a drink of water out of my water bottle and she said "yum mom, delicious" It cracked me up! She is copying things she sees and hears so much and is becoming quite the sponge. (Auda is enjoying this very much!!) She watched a cartoon about feelings and now tells me "I'm mad" and "not fair"...actually more often than I would like. But, I guess, at least she's learning about how she feels.
Nakiah and I are still doing our gymnastics and loving it! Nakiah thinks its a crazy fun play time and I love watching her learn new things. She is fascinated by the tricks the older kids can do on some of the equipment and desperately wants to play with them. She has become obsessed with monsters and is convinced that a monster lurks around every corner, behind every wall and on the other side of every door. She is becoming afraid of the dark, the wind (especially at night) and any loud noise that isn't familiar to her. Even at home, if its dark outside, she does not like me out of her sight. I secretly love that she needs me and one of my favorite things is Nakiah saying "need you mom". I cherish everyone one of those I hear because I'm sure my little miss "I do it" won't be saying that for too long. She is compassion, empathy, attitude, stubbornness, humor and energy all wrapped up with a dirty pink ribbon and she puts a smile on my face every single day!

Cross Eyed

A few days ago Auma crossed her eyes at Nakiah then asked Nakiah if she could do it.
This is Nakiah crossing her eyes!
Just the thought of Nakiah "crossing her eyes" makes me laugh so much!
I think this is my new favorite picture...I'm seriously laughing right now!

A Date With My Baby

Kicen and I enjoyed a beautiful fall sunset a few evenings ago...
I think I enjoyed it more than he did

Morning Routine

Nakiah has definitely become a mommy's girl in the mornings. As soon as I get out of the shower, if Nakiah is awake, she instantly "need you mom". She tells Corey "mommy do it" for everything. Mommy needs to help her go potty, mommy needs to brush her teeth, mommy needs to dress her, mommy needs to get her juice, mommy needs to put Nakiah's tutu on for her and mommy needs to take pictures with her pretty girl!
It certainly adds a great deal to get done in the morning and I'm late to work more often than not these days, but I wouldn't trade my mornings with my baby for anything in the world.
Especially when she's prancing around in green pants and a purple tutu first thing in the morning!! :-) You can't beat mornings like those!

Red, Pink & Yewoe

Nakiah is really getting into colors and groupings of colors. She, apparently, likes to go through the groceries and put things in order.
I found her playing with the bottles of Vitamin Water one night and just sat back to watch
She was explaining to me what she was doing, but I didn't really get it... ...until she told me "there, all finished" then she pointed to the first row and told me "red", she pointed to the second row and told me "pink" and she pointed to the back row and told me "yewoe"
I really am amazed by her on a regular basis! Where do kids learn these things?

Oh so cute!

Does he look like he's being held against his wishes?

One for Nakiah, One for Kicen

I used to think it was hard to get pictures of Nakiah actually looking at the camera and a smile was just a great big bonus....Now with two kids, getting a good picture of everyone is quite possibly the most impossible task!

I need Photoshop!

Sous Chef

Nakiah loves to help in the kitchen...no matter what you are doing, but she especially likes to help cook! Most of the time we either have to pull her table into the kitchen, pull a chair up to the counter or do what we can on the floor so that Nakiah can help as much as possible.
Grammy and Grampy got Nakiah her little chef outfit for her birthday, and she certainly is getting a lot of use out of it!
She's making dinner with Auma while mommy was at work She's making dinner with Daddy while Mommy gets some Kicen time
One thing is for sure...she gets her love of cooking from her Daddy!

"Pumpin Patch"

About a week before Halloween my mom and I took the kids to the pumpkin patch. I don't know if Nakiah remembered it from last year or was just excited to be going somewhere, but she kept asking for the "pumpin patch" the entire day...and continues to talk about it now.
It was a bit chilly, but I, as always, made sure my kids were over bundled. Nakiah could barely contain her excitement and wouldn't even sit still for a picture
First things first, we had to ride the tractors
Then it was off to find the perfect pumpkin
We couldn't forget about the animals.....
except this year, Nakiah was NOT a fan!!! As soon as the geese started honking, Nakiah was freaking out. She was trying to hide behind Auma and then started crying for mommy. I asked her if she wanted mommy to sit near the ducks with her, she said yes....
...but I think she really meant no. She was trying so hard to climb....I'm not really sure where she wanted to climb to, but she did not want to be near the geese!!
She soon forgave mommy for laughing and cuddled up for a picture
But every time the geese honked, she freaked!
He so just goes with the flow, he's such an easy baby!
I so love my little man!
She thinks her feet don't work when Auma is around....
She found Kicen's pumpkin first, his was the little one
So many to choose from
Time for the train ride
She wouldn't let us leave without jumping in the bouncy house
I thought we would never get her out of them
Turns out, she didn't like the other kids and was more than happy to leave their presence!
Just my luck the other bouncy house was empty
Little Miss Pumpkin
Nakiah the Friendly Ghost
My Big Girl
All tuckered out and ready for some french fries!
-Yes, I gave my daughter a sucker and some french fries....and some popcorn!-
