ROCK ON!!!

She is soooo much fun to play with!!
If only we had purple shampoo Not a poser at all..... It actually sort of suits her, I think!

Who Can Blame Me??

I seriously could spend all day, every day taking pictures of Nakiah!!
If only I was so dedicated to actually printing them.
:-)

Big Helper

Nakiah has become such a big helper these days!
ANY time the dishwasher (or refrigerator) door opens, she makes a mad dash to the kitchen. If the door shuts before she gets there, its seriously like she just got her heart broken.
She has become quite the helper in the kitchen
She loves to help mommy load/unload the dishwasher She mops the floor with her belly She checks to make sure I put the lid on my water She even cheers me on when I sweep I hope she's always this into chore time!

Cheese Please!

Nakiah and I were having lunch the other day when I happened to put a piece of cheese that I had been snacking on, down on her try so that I could take a picture of her.
Next thing I know, she has my cheese in her mouth.
Sneaky Girl
When I asked her what she was doing, she seriously looked at me like
"Haha Mom"

When I reached to get the cheese back from her, she started shoving the whole piece in her mouth. I had to sacrifice my cheese to get the picture. Apparently, one should not mess with Nakiah's cheese!

Lesson learned!

Children's Art Festival

Last weekend our department put on the 24th Annual Children's Art Festival at Hillcrest Park. For those of you with children who have never been, you are totally missing out!! Its a totally free event for everyone. We've got tons of booths with different art projects, a bouncy house, a big rig area where kids can climb on trucks/tractors/etc. and even a sand~water~goop station for the little ones to play at. We give out free balloons to the kids and flowers to the parents, the kids can even enter into a raffle for free. I was working all day at the event, but my parents were great enough to bring Nakiah over to see me for a while.
She LOVED watching all the kids run around.
Mommy played in the goop with her and while she liked watching it in mommy's hand, she had no desire to touch it herself.
For those of you that don't know, goop is cornstarch and water.
This stuff is the weirdest thing. When its in the container (in this case a simming pool) it looks like a liquid. You stick your hand in it and it feels like a solid. If you squeeze it in your hand, it becomes hard and dry and it will crumble. When you open your fist, it begins to liquify and run through your fingers. Its pretty crazy and a huge hit with the kids!

After goop came sand. She wasn't big on putting her hands in the sand either. After the goop/sand session we met up with Leah, James and Anna And of course headed over to the bouncy house, per James' request

I thought Nakiah would freak out inside, but she loved it She liked watching the kids and getting bounced around Anna's face wasn't so happy when Leah pulled her out Anna is just a petite little girl, but has NO fear.
She was off bouncing with the big kids the whole time inside
James hand a great time with the art projects
He made hand prints and got to choose what colors he wanted his fingers painted He even got to paint a real fish for fish prints After the bouncy house, I think Anna was over it. We all had a blast!

Tent City

I came home for lunch today and Meega and Nakiah had built a blanket fort.
Nakiah thought it was pretty cool
Its hard work playing with Meega Deconstructing the fort Where's Nakiah? There she is!!! Come and get me!!!

Roller Coaster!

My mom loves roller coasters
She's prepping Nakiah for future thrill rides
Nakiah loves it!!

Nakiah-in-a-Box

Meega put Nakiah in a box
She actually liked it And even stayed in it for quite a while Weird kid :-)

Irresistible

She thinks if she smiles real big mommy will think its so
cute that she'll let Nakiah stand in the tub.
This really only works on daddy and Meega.
She likes to eat the food But touching it is a whole different story.... Again, if she smiles real cute, maybe mommy will let her play on the stairs
Meega thinks its cute Mommy was interrupting sprout time Another something to get in to!

Picnic in the Park

Corey and I took Nakiah to the park tonight for a picnic dinner. We enjoyed family time very much, but I think Nakiah's favorite part of the whole night was watching the other kids play on the toys. She explored a little but was really good about staying close to us.
And off she goes Soaking up the last rays of the day She figured out how to put the camera strap around her neck, but couldn't figure out how to get it off. After a few minutes of tugging at it, she got a little frustrated. I think mommy will stick to carrying the camera from now on. Corey called this the miniature Merry-Go-Round Exploring new territory She was a little tired of posing for the camera and really just wanted to play with it. Nakiah climbing on mommy to get the camera Showing us how she stands up with no hands like a big girl!! First time in a swing
She loved it!! She would reach like she wanted out, but when I took her out, she reached to get back in. Mommy's pride and joy Beautiful evening at the park
