29 Years!!
29 years ago on June 23, 1979, two of my favorite people said "I do"
Approximately 3 years later, I came along and 25 years after that, my parents became grandparents. It all began with "I do"....... sort of. :)
Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!!
We're very thankful for the family you created
& the 29 years of devotion you've given to us.
I love you!

P.S.....
Even the doctor said how smart my baby is for her age!
I forgot to post her stats for her 9 month post, so here you go -
Nakiah was 24.5 pounds and 28 1/2 inches long. She is 90+ percentile for weight and 75+ percentile for length. She's growing perfectly. She has 10 teeth now and is working on 2 more. She is now constantly on the go. She hates to sit down and LOVES to climb our stairs. When its time for a nap and she isn't ready to miss something, she goes and goes and goes until she literally can't go any more. Sleeping is not her favorite thing these days, but 3 or 4 am seems to be. As much as I would love for her to be sleeping better ( I think her teeth are bothering her ) I can't complain, she is still the happiest, most content baby I could ever have asked for. She literally has a smile on her face all the time, even at 3 am. If I didn't see/feel the teeth popping through, I wouldn't believe she was teething.
She has also found a love of jabbering. Shes talking all day long now. She will sometimes sit by herself with her toys and talk and talk and talk to them, it really is music to my ears! She gives kisses every day, but only when she wants to, not when you ask her....unless Grampa asks her. She is totally in love with her Grampa, which of course he eats up. She has him wrapped so tight around her little finger, she has no idea the power she possesses.
She's also really starting to share things. If she is eating something, especially at dinner time, she really wants to share with mommy and to be honest, she's a bit pushy! If I don't take a bite of whatever slime is in her hands or on her spoon, she keeps reaching it out to me until I've tasted it for her. Meals have become a bit messy, but I don't mind. She has fun and I enjoy watching her play. Sometimes I even give her her own bowl of food and a spoon. Its amazing how big a mess a baby can make with a couple table spoons of food.
Nine months has gone by incredibly fast and I can't believe she's well on her way to celebrating her first birthday. Its been the most enjoyable 9 months!! I couldn't ask for more.

Yummy Yummy, Yogurt and Prunes!
Nakiah's on the road to self feeding!
She has this weird thing aobut textures though. If something is cold, wet, slimy, squishing, too soft or in some way feels different to her, she either won't touch it or she squishes it in her hand and then smears it on her tray. As long as the texture doesn't make her gag (don't know where she got that ;=)), she doesn't mind eating it....she just wants you to put it in her mouth for her.
Thats not to say, however, that she doesn't like to experiment

Cherios!
Mommy had a bit too much playing with Nakiah!!
I stuck Cherios all over her face and she didn't touch one of them. I started laughing and she just looked at me with a very serious "whats so funny" stare and I could not stop laughing. Kids really are the best toys!! :)
She may come to despise this sort of "play time" one day so I figure, enjoy it while it lasts.

Camping Chair...CHECK!
In preparation of Nakiah's first semi-camping trip, ( I say semi because we'll be in pretty nice - furnished - cabins on the river ), my mom got Nakiah her first camping chair. Its the cutest chair I've seen for little ones. It even has a velcro pouch on the back and little "backpack" straps so when she gets bigger, she can carry her own chair.

Father's Day BBQ
We had a BBQ at our house for father's day.
It was either really borring, or really good...
Is it just me, or does it seem like Michael is asleep in a lot of his pictures?
