She's A Roller Over-er

Its been a while, so we have some updates.

At Nakiah's 4 month check up (at the beginning of January) she weighed 16lbs 6oz and was 24 3/8 inches long. Doc says she's leveling off closer to 50/50, which is a lot lower than the 90/75 percentile she was at the last appointment.

(Again, she's a healthy girl!)

She's really liking her food. She loves bananas and sweet potatoes, she's warmed up to the carrots but pears she's still getting used to. She'll sometimes eat the rice cereal with banana flakes, but now that she's tasted straight food, she would prefer the real thing. Rice cereal apparently got really old, really fast.

Our biggest news..............she FINALLY rolled over. My mom undressed Nakiah and let her play naked on the floor today (when I was on my way out the door back to work). As I was pulling out of the driveway I heard her yelling for me. I came back inside and watched my bitty girl roll over like she's been doing it for weeks!

She's as proud of herself as I am!!

Sweet Potato Slumber

First of all, I've decided its rather hard to feed your child food you hate.....even if they love it! I'm not really sure where her taste buds come from, but Nakiah LOVES her sweet potatoes!! She ate the whole jar the first time she tried them. I admit, I took a little lick to see what the fuss was all about. Its difficult, to say the least, to reassure your child that something is good when you can barely swallow it yourself.

I think my curiosity regarding the taste of baby food has been fed!

I think sweet potatoes are to Nakiah, what Thanksgiving dinner is to the rest of us.....

This is Daddy's new favorite outfit. So far, since he bought this outfit, every day that its been clean, I come home for lunch and Nakiah is all ready for hunting....

Nakiah Jump Up

Fire Girl

Our uncle Shawn found this fire engine in the garbage. He brought it home, gave it a shine and now Nakiah has a great toy to play with when she visits Auntie Fave and Uncle Shawn.

4 MONTHS OLD.....

Nakiah had a very busy day on Sunday. She turned 4 months old, she got her second tooth (just 4 days after the 1st tooth) and she played with her friend Jayla.

She tried cereal again today, this time mommy mixed it with bananas....which seemed to go over pretty well.

Apparently mom wasn't doing it right.

Calling All Tooth Fairies!!

NAKIAH HAS A TOOTH!!

It's time to get on a Tooth Fairy list!

She's had a couple of bumps on her bottom gums for about a week now. On Tuesday you could feel a tooth in there somewhere... and yesterday it finally popped out! She has her bottom left front tooth. (She really looks upriver now, we're just lucky the hair is semi under control these days) She was very good through the whole teething process, she only had one rough spell for about 30 minutes, but we hopped her up on some baby Tylenol and some Orajel and she was good to go.

I guess this explains all the hand chewing and drooling for the last couple of weeks. :)
